Caron Chunky Cakes Blankets

I was recently inspired by this blanket from Repeat Crafter Me. If you haven't been over to her blog yet, make sure you check it out because she has so many amazing crochet projects!

I made two blankets for my two different friends of mine who have 1 year old boys. As the pattern suggested, I used Bernat Softee Chunky in white and Caron Chunky Cakes. For one blanket I used Blue Moon, and for the other I used Mystic Chip. They both turned out so great! I can't wait to use all the different Caron Cake yarns and colors!

One recommendation I have for the pattern is when you are making the pom poms for the corners, I would use the white yarn to attach it so that it makes it easier to weave in the ends of the pom pom in the white row. Since there are so many ends to weave in for this blanket, I made sure to weave the ends in every time I switched to a new skein to keep up with it and not have to do it all at the end.
